Qigong Movement classes consist of self-healing exercises that restore and refine the unity of body, mind, spirit, and soul through the movement and harmonization of chi. We explore gentle moving forms that function to dredge the energetic channels, or meridians, in the body of disease, toxins, and false emotions. As this stagnation is cleansed, fresh chi then flows into the meridian system, restoring it to balance. With regular practice, our physical bodies become stronger and more flexible, and the health and function of our organs improve. Also vital to our practice is the explicit instruction in regulating mind, breath, and emotions, all of which contribute to refinement of consciousness.
Yoga is an ancient Indian healing tradition that utilizes a gently flowing integration of postures and breath, with an emphasis on accessing a calm and empowered body, mind, and heart. This practice consists of stretching and strengthening joints, muscles, and tissues, as well as an exploration of breathing, relaxation, and mindfulness techniques. Please bring a mat, as well as any other props that are beneficial for your practice. Some mats and props are also available for use at the center.
These classes are beneficial to all experience, ability, and age levels, and are easily adaptable to any present health considerations. Drop-in attendance is always welcome, however, regular participation is highly encouraged to receive the maximum benefit of the practice.
